![]() The movie follows his love- life in the three the stages of his life - as a 16 year old, a 20 year old and a 30 year old. Premam is George's (Nivin) story, who is an affable, unassuming Kochiite. with Premam, he takes the oldest story in the world and gives it a unique flavor. His first flick, the 2013 bilingual Neram, was an unconventional comedy. People found the movie unworthy of all the attention it was receiving. Now, along with all the praise, there were many negative opinions. And after three weeks and numerous attempts, I was finally able to book tickets for my family at a nearby multiplex. Finally, despite my misgivings, I gave in. Now, I wasn't all that excited, because the poster, and even the name, suggested that it was a normal cheesy romance, with all the cliches attached with a Mollywood film. She, like all ordinary Malayalees, was intrigued by the hula surrounding the movie and wanted to find what it was all about. Now, ever since I had been home, my mother had literallybeen hounding me to watch Premam. The Hindu reported that Premam was on the expressway of becoming a cult Armed with unanimous critical acclaim,the movie went on to break all box office records and became the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time.Cinemas were booked beyond capacity, and people were enthralled by the chemistry between the leads. The movie was an instant hit, with the songs and dialogue being lapped up by the public. ![]() Premam (Love) is a 2015 coming-of-age romantic- comedy drama directed by Alphonse Puthren, starring Nivin Pauly and a trio of female leads (Anupama Parameshwaran, Sai Pallavi and Madonna Sebastian). Bachelor is a film that has a unique presentation and San Lokesh's cuts play a major role in that.For all non- Keraliites, here's a little perspective :). Theni Eswar's cinematography is classy and impressive aiding Sathish's vision. The songs don't stay inside you for a long time. Siddhu Kumar's background music adds a special flavour to the film and it is surely a big aspect of the movie. Director Mysskin helps with a few laughs in his short and delightful cameo. Bagavathi Perumal and Munishkanth score well with their humour among the other supporting characters. Divya is sure to earn a good fan base and she seems to be a talent to watch out for. Debutant Divya Bharathi makes a good impression with her performance, especially in the emotional scenes. As a man of flaws and full of confusions, GV Prakash has matured as an actor, with a good level of confidence. GV Prakash has put up a fine performance that shows varied emotions. Had the film been high on engagement, the runtime wouldn't have mattered, but due to the slow-paced screenplay, you need to hold your patience. ![]() The duration of the film is a concern since the pace of the movie is also slow, especially in the latter half. The staging of the courtroom scenes could have been more effective and convincing as the current version looks unimpactful. The Bachelor that we now see has a decent first half and a clueless second half. Director Sathish's intention to tell a mature story about two people in a relationship is appreciable, but it would have been better if the second half was also centered around them and their problems. A major chunk of the second half revolves around GV Prakash's character and there is not even a single shot of Divya, as a result of which you don't constantly stay connected to the movie.
